What is Google AdSense?

Adsense is Google’s advertising network that places the sponsored ads you see on most websites. Google automatically checks the content on web page and places the ads on and displays advertisements that are relevant to the page. This produces highly targeted advertisements for the page, allowing, hopefully, higher returns for the advertiser, the advertising network (Google) and the publisher (you).

Google Adsense is world’s largest Ads Network and works at Pay Per Click system. It’s paying rates are better than all of other networks which is the biggest reason it is so popular to all Bloggers and Webmasters. But as everybody is behind them, Google has become more stringent and meticulous in approving AdSense accounts.

Here is the list of mandatory requirements that you need to do before applying for Google Adsense ads in your website.

1. Privacy Policy :

This is the most critical requirement while you are applying for Google Adsense Ads. Application for Adsense ads gets rejected if the website does not have a Privacy Policy. A Privacy policy actually describes to your readers about what they will get on your Blog website. The Privacy policy mentions on what the reader should do and what they should not. You can write it yourself or find Privacy Policy Generators online.

2. About Page:

An About Page describes about you and what your Blog website is all about. It is useful when a reader goes through the website and would like to understand your experience and contribution in the website contents. An About Page has major role and importance if you want to apply for Adsense. This will not only help you establish a relationship with readers but it will also make them trust upon you. A blog website without About Page will be immediately rejected  by Adsense authorities.

3. Contact Us Page:

The presence of Contact page in your Blog Website indicates that you genuinely care for your readers. The Contact page contains your contact details such as email address, website address, Contact phone numbers, postal address, etc. This data will help readers to contact you. You are also anxious to know the opinion of your readers and visitors at your Blog website. Every reader will have their own views and may give inputs and suggestions to improve your website and posts. The Contact page will help you interact with your readers and improve your website. This is appreciated by Adsense authorities.

4. Name and Email Verification:

This requirement is critical for Google Adsense to verify your identity. You need to include your name and Email address in a prominent place like ‘About me’ page or ‘Contact Us’ page. This data will confirm Google Adsense team that it is the same person who has applied and not spam. When you receive a mail from the Google Adsense team, reply to that mail to confirm your address. As soon as you confirm your email address, you will get your proposal for Google Adsense accepted.

5. Age verification of individual and domain:

Google Adsense is not for people below 18 years of age. Therefore be accurate while typing your age.  Plenty of applications get rejected due to error in date entry or as they are not eligible as per Date of birth.

The age of domain is also very important. Adsense has placed an age restriction for the blog website too. They do not accept any sites from Asian countries – China and India before they are 6 months old.

6. Minimum number of posts in your Blog Website:

There is no straight answer to this requirement. Google Adsense looks for quality of content rather than number of posts. There are Blog websites that have been approved for Adsense Ads with merely 25 to 30 posts and many others who have crossed double centuries in publishing posts and have not got approval. Focus on the quality of content when you are writing articles. Ensure your content is having minimum 300 to 500 words and will be useful to the reader.

You need to publish blog posts that you would like to read, blog posts that convey the complete information and they must be written for readers and not for the search engine bots. If you are focusing on getting the attention of search engine bots constantly, your Blog website will not be accepted for Adsense program.

7. Design of the blog:

Design of your blog is a key aspect to get approved for Adsense Program. The Blog design attracts readers to the Blog website . Your website design can be made attractive by including bright colors, beautiful images and videos. As a popular saying goes…A picture is equivalent to thousand words and a video is equivalent to thousand still pictures. You can make your readers grasp the point by including pictures and video corresponding to the posts. This effort of yours will attract unique visitors to your Blog website and a higher chance for getting approval from Google Adsense. Have a neat and clean blog with a trusty looking homepage and you will have a better standing.

You need to avoid the following elements in your website if you want your Adsense application to get approved – Avoid spammy looking site, bad navigation for website, less content area and more sidebar area, too many outgoing links to untrustworthy sites, placement of ads not orderly, improperly placed internal links.

8. Type of Content:

The content is highly considered while reviewing website for Adsense approval. Google Adsense is not for Pornographic, Illegal Items, Drugs ,etc . Your content should benefit readers and add value to the blogosphere. It should not exists only to attract readers and create a negative effect. Adsense also does not encourage posts that are shorter than 300 words.

9. Choose relevant and Top Level Domain name:

The Adsense team was earlier approving ‘Blogspot’ and ‘WordPress.com’ blog websites. Now the conditions have changed. You need to have a unique domain name that describes your website. This will be a plus point for SEO.

10. Other Ad Networks

There are a large number of Ad networks which you can use for increasing traffic to your blog. You need to include the best Ad Network for promoting your blog. In general Google Adsense does not allow you to use other Ad Networks along with them, it’s better to remove the ads before applying. Do not put them back until you get a reply from Adsense Team.

11. Paid Traffic:

Google does not encourage websites getting paid traffic. Your chances to get Adsense approval is very less. You need to put efforts to bring in unique visitors through organic means or Search engines. Paid traffic is not the solution.

It is important to get good traffic to your website. You need to employ Search Engine Optimization- SEO techniques to promote your Blog website. Your website should have atleast 100 + unique visitors on a daily basis.  Your application for Google Adsense will be then considered.

12. Have Patience:

You need to have patience in getting returns after you buy a website. You need to promote your website and increase visitors  and thereby good traffic. You will not earn money overnight. There are people earning good amount from Blog websites. People have left their jobs and focus on the websites as it is giving good returns. You need to put in time and effort initially to make your presence in the blogging world. People become desperate after a few weeks of time spent on a blog. You can make money thru’ several forums on the website. Those who are dedicated and spent time consistently will reap the benefits.

Do not worry if your Adsense application is rejected once. You can correct the gaps and reapply to get Adsense approval.
